How to check-in on the day: IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Workshop Registrations:

If you registered for a workshop through the Workshop links on Eventbrite you will have been assigned to perform with a specific colour group. On event day PLEASE CHECK-IN AT THE CORRESPONDING COLOUR CHECK-IN DESK

 

Group Registrations:

If you registered a group through the Group Registration link on Eventbrite – On event day, PLEASE CHECK-IN AT THE GROUP CHECK-IN DESK

 

Individual Registrations:

If you resisted as an Individual through the Eventbrite registration link – On event day, PLEASE CHECK-IN AT THE INDIVIDUAL CHECK-IN DESK

 

Please take note of the correct check-in time for the colour group with which you be performing.

 

  • 12.00pm Red Colour Check-in – Workshop/Group/Individual/On the Day Registrations followed by Rehearsal at 12.30pm

 

  • 12.30pm Black Colour Check-in– Workshop/Group/Individual/On the Day Registrations followed by Rehearsal at 12.45pm

 

  • 12.45pm White Colour Check-in– Workshop/Group/Individual/On the Day Registrations open followed by Rehearsal at 1.00pm 

 

  • Please note all groups will rehearse together after individual colour rehearsals

ADDITIONAL EVENT DAY INFORMATION

Rehearsal: After the rehearsal, the Red group will be invited to take a break, grab a drink and return for the ‘altogether’ rehearsal at 1.15pm. The Black and White groups will remain in situ until after group rehearsal. There will then be a short water break in the space from 1.30-1.45pm.

What to wear: Please wear black pants that you can move easily in and a tee shirt, either red white or black, corresponding to the colour group with which you will be performing. Wear comfortable shoes that you can dance in and bring a light hoodie in the event of cold weather for rehearsal that can be removed for the performance.

What to bring: Please bring as little as possible to the event. We will NOT be providing a cloakroom and ask that you keep your belongings with you during performance. We would suggest a small bag, a small energy snack, water and a hat. Please apply sunscreen before attending the event.

What not to bring: As we will NOT be providing secure cloakroom facilities we would advise that you do not bring either valuable or bulky items with you on the day.

Wet weather: Big Dance will NOT be rescheduled in the event of rain. We will continue with the Big Dance as is safe and feasible for participants. However, if lightening is predicted and poses as a risk to the safety of participants, any cancelation plans will be communicated on the morning of the event by 10.00am

Public Transport: Cathedral Square is equidistant to Museum and St James train stations and the site is a short 5-minute walk from either.

Parking: Parking is limited in the city and it is advised that you use public transport where possible.

The Domain carpark is a short 5-minute walk away from Cathedral Square and costs $12 on a Sunday.

There is also some metered parking in the surrounding streets by the Sydney Botanic Gardens and Art Gallery of NSW.

Food and Beverage: There will be no food and beverages supplied at the site. There are Café’s nearby at the Australian Museum and at Bodhi Restaurant to purchase coffee and light snacks.  We would suggest you have a substantial brunch before attending the event.

First Aid: First Aid will be provided on the day for any participants in need by St John’s Ambulance.
