Initiated by the Mayor of London in 2006, the biennial Big Dance is a participatory dance festival. It is a celebration of dance for all ages and all levels of ability.

2018 sees Australia take the leading role for this global event, with Ausdance NSW and Victoria presenting the 2018 Big Dance.

You will have the opportunity to learn the Big Dance, choreographed by Frances Rings and Craig Bary and perform it at one of many Big Dance events taking place in Australia or have an opportunity to create your own Big Dance event.

Ausdance Victoria and NSW will be hosting events in Sydney, Melbourne and regional Victoria and New South Wales. We will also be supporting events in every state and territory so check out the Events page here.

"Big Dance will connect everyone through movement and bring people together to share their stories and experiences with pride and in any dance form.”

— Frances Rings,

2018 Big Dance Co-Choreographer and Director of Creative Studies at NAISDA Dance College in Gosford, NSW
